The Amazon is a fascinating territory that contains the largest tropical rainforest on the planet. Its basin covers nearly 7,000,000 km², spread across eight countries: Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador, Guyana, Venezuela, and Suriname.

In addition to being one of the most biodiverse places on Earth—with approximately 30,000 plant species, 2,500 fish species, 1,500 bird species, 500 mammals, 550 reptiles, and 2.5 million insects—the Amazon is home to more than 420 Indigenous tribes, with 86 languages and 650 dialects. It also produces around 20% of the planet’s oxygen and holds 20% of the world’s unfrozen fresh water in its tributaries.

EXPLORE THE AMAZON

ITINERARY

We will meet the travelers at the Leticia Airport in Colombia. From there, we will travel in a private vehicle for approximately 10 minutes until we reach the Mundo Amazónico Reserve. At this location, we will enjoy lunch while our local guides introduce us to the dynamics of the Amazon region. We will learn about the different ethnic groups, explore the geography, and have the opportunity to observe sacred plants such as Ayahuasca, Coca, Curare, and Barbasco, among others.

After savoring a traditional regional lunch, we will head in the afternoon to another reserve, where we will spend the night in treehouse-style cabins deep in the jungle. We will take part in a night walk to search for wildlife, enjoy a delicious dinner, and finally settle in for a well-deserved rest.

After a special night deep in the jungle, surrounded by its fascinating sounds, we will enjoy a good breakfast and then head to a maloca (a sacred Indigenous house) to learn firsthand about the traditions of the Tikuna, Yucuna, and Uitoto ethnic groups. We will spend the day with the community, observing processes such as the preparation of mambe from coca leaves, weaving workshops using plant fibers, natural tattoos made with achiote and jagua, and a traditional Indigenous dance. We will also enjoy a typical lunch prepared by our hosts.

In the afternoon, we will navigate along the Amazon River toward the Marasha Reserve in Peruvian territory. At night, we will have the opportunity to explore the lake by boat in search of caimans and crocodiles, and afterward enjoy a delicious dinner and a well-deserved rest.

After a pleasant night on the shores of Lake Marasha, we will return to the Amazon River and continue navigating until we reach Puerto Nariño, a picturesque and charming small town along the river. In this delightful place, we will explore its streets, climb to the viewpoint, and enjoy a regional lunch. We will then switch boats to visit Lake Tarapoto, where we will have the chance to swim alongside dolphins.

After this refreshing experience, we will return to Leticia, arriving in the late afternoon just in time to witness the amazing spectacle of thousands of parakeets gathering at Santander Park to settle in for the night. Following this magical moment, we will enjoy a delicious dinner and settle into our hotel to rest.

On the last day, we will have breakfast at the hotel and visit the traditional market, where we can observe a wide variety of Amazonian products. We will then walk through the port, and if time allows before the flight, we will make a brief visit to Tabatinga, the Brazilian city bordering Leticia.

Finally, we will head to the airport to take the flight back to our city of origin.

Note:
We recommend that travelers pack only the essentials and carry everything in a small backpack. If you organize your belongings well, you can easily fit everything into a 10 kg carry-on backpack for the flight. This recommendation is important because each day we will be moving to different locations, boarding boats and vehicles, and a large suitcase can be uncomfortable for these transitions.

Ideally, bring a backpack you can carry on your back that does not take up too much space. You don’t need to bring much for this trip—only what appears in the list below.

This trip is ideal for people who enjoy nature. It does not include demanding hikes, making it suitable for travelers of all ages. However, some activities in the rainforest involve short walks of up to 45 minutes each.

No prior experience is required—just good health and mobility to comfortably complete these gentle rainforest walks.

Our guides and boat operators are highly knowledgeable about the region and are fully committed to traveler safety. All river journeys are conducted during daylight hours, ensuring optimal visibility. In addition, we carry an active medical assistance policy, and every boat is equipped with life jackets for all passengers.
