THE LOST CITY –
SANTA MARTA SNOWY MOUNTAIN RANGE
Ciudad Perdida (The Lost City), also known as Teyuna and located at 1,200m, is an old indigenous town of the already disappeared Tayrona civilization. It was build in the 8th century AC and discovered by guaqueros (grave robbers) in 1973. Teyuna is part of the more than 250 old towns we can find in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia north region. It is believed that around 8.000 people lived there until conquerors arrived and indigenous people were forced to abandon their lands.
