EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK
The Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the most spectacular and magical trails in the Himalayas. Its mountain range hosts the highest peaks on the planet, all shrouded in incredible stories. During this journey, we will walk through the Khumbu Valley until we reach the base camp of Mount Everest, standing at 8,848 meters above sea level, making it the tallest mountain on Earth. Throughout the trek, we will marvel at the breathtaking mountains, cross rivers and canyons on towering suspension bridges. We will immerse ourselves in Sherpa culture, savor their cuisine, hike on stone-paved paths filled with ancestral wisdom, accompanied by yaks and porters who will guide us to our destination and, along the way, visit beautiful monasteries or Buddhist temples where we will interact with Monks and Lamas.
The trek spans 11 days, with two rest days included. It is designed for anyone with no prior experience, good health, and reasonable physical fitness to complete the journey.

After breakfast, we will take a flight of approximately 40 minutes to Lukla, a small village in the Himalayan mountains where the journey begins. In Lukla, we will hand over our luggage to the porters, who will be responsible for transporting it during the trip. There, we will meet around lunchtime and, with the good energy of the place, we will commence our first three-hour hike to the Phakding refuge, where we will enjoy dinner and a comfortable stay.

From the Phakding refuge, we will walk to Namche Bazaar, one of the largest towns in the region and known as the gateway to the high Himalayas. During the journey, we will cross beautiful canyons on suspension bridges, have a lunch break, and then begin an ascent through pine forests until we reach the village. There, we can purchase crafts and enjoy the panoramic views the mountain offers.

This will be a day of rest and acclimatization in which we will visit the Sagarmathta Next organization. There, we can get a close look at the important work they do for the conservation of the Khumbu Valley and their innovative projects on solid waste management. Additionally, we can explore the village, walk along its stone-paved paths, purchase local crafts, or enjoy a coffee with a spectacular mountain view.
On this day, we will walk for approximately 6 hours to the Tengboche Monastery, located on a high point with incredible views of various mountains (including Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, among others). Here, we can enjoy the surrounding landscape and take the opportunity to acclimatize to the altitude of the location, which is 3,800 meters above sea level.

After breakfast, we begin the journey that leads to Dingboche at 4,300 meters above sea level. During the trek, we will continue to cross beautiful suspension bridges and spend most of our time in front of one of the most beautiful mountains in the Himalayas, Ama Dablam. In the afternoon, we will have time to rest and enjoy the silence and vastness of the place.

In this beautiful and small village surrounded by mountains, we will spend this day resting in the refuge and by the fireplace to continue acclimatization. Those who wish to do so will have the option to take a hike up to 5,000 meters above sea level to further acclimatize and enjoy the view of mountains like Makalu, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam.

From the Dingboche refuge, we begin the ascent that will take us to Lobuche, located at 4,950 meters above sea level. During the journey, we will leave behind the last mountains with vegetation and enter the Pumori Valley, known for its impressive rocky peaks such as Lobuche, Cholatse, and Hillary Peak.
The trek to the refuge will take us about 6 hours. There, we can rest in comfortable rooms and enjoy a hot shower, the warmth of the fireplace, and a good dinner.

After breakfast at 4,900 meters above sea level, with an incredible view of the Himalayan mountains, we begin our journey that will ultimately take us to the Everest Base Camp, located at 5,360 meters above sea level. In this impressive place surrounded by mountains ranging from 7,000 to 8,000 meters, we will walk the 2-kilometer length of the camp, reaching the start of the famous Khumbu Glacier. Here, we will experience the dynamics of climbers who attempt to reach the summit of the mountain each year. We will have ample time for taking photographs, talking to mountaineers, and gazing at the mountains. Once our visit to the base camp is complete, we will return to Gorakhshep, which is approximately an hour’s walk away. There, we will have dinner and rest for the next day’s journey.

In the morning, we will begin the return journey, but before that, we will have the option to climb to Kalapatthar, a mountain at 5,600 meters above sea level with a beautiful view of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and hundreds of other mountains in the Himalayan range. Once we descend, we will continue the return journey to a small and beautiful village called Periche, where we will have dinner and rest.

From Namche, we will embark on our last day of trekking, which will take us back to Lukla. Here, we will admire the beautiful mountains surrounding the village and rest in the comfort of a shelter with pleasant temperatures.

From Lukla, we will fly over the Himalayan mountains and finally arrive in the city of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. We will stay at the hotel and have the afternoon free to explore the city.
Our last day of the journey is for exploring the city, visiting some temples, and walking the streets where local artisans have their small businesses. Here, we can purchase souvenirs representing the Buddhist and Hindu cultures. The rest of the afternoon will be free for leisure.

NOTE: Those who wish to climb Lobuche Peak at 6,100 meters above sea level will separate from the group and return to Kathmandu two or three days after the rest of the group.
