We’ll start the day with a delicious breakfast before heading to Huascarán National Park. Here, we’ll do an acclimatization hike around the stunning Parón Lagoon, one of the park’s most outstanding natural wonders. After the hike, we’ll head back to Huaraz by private transport for some rest and to prepare for the trekking adventure in Huayhuash that awaits us the next day.

After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll pick you up and head by private vehicle to Queropalca, our first campsite at 3,800 meters above sea level. The drive will take about 7-8 hours, during which our porters will be waiting for us, ready to join us on the adventure the next day.

In the morning, after a nutritious breakfast, we’ll head toward Punta Cacanan, our first pass at 4,700 meters above sea level. From there, we’ll descend toward Janca for a short lunch. Afterward, we’ll climb for 2.5 hours to Carhuac Pass at 4,600 meters, and then descend for about 1.5 hours to our camp at Carhuacocha Lagoon. From here, we’ll enjoy stunning views of the towering peaks like Yerupajá (6,650 m), the second highest mountain in Peru, as well as Siula Grande, Jirishanca, and more.

Today, we’ll follow a trail that will take us to the Three Lagoons Viewpoint, reaching the highest point of the day at 4,800 meters above sea level. We’ll cross above the beautiful Siula and Quesillococha lagoons, offering breathtaking views of towering mountains and majestic glaciers. From here, we’ll get an up-close look at the glaciers and may even see icebergs floating in the lakes, caused by nearby glacier avalanches.

On this day, we’ll climb to Portachuelo Pass at 4,600 meters above sea level, where we’ll enjoy an incredible view of the majestic Raura Mountain Range and the impressive mountains like León Huacanan, Quesillojanca, and León Dormido. After taking in the panoramic views, we’ll begin our descent toward the camp, passing by the tranquil shores of Viconga Lagoon. We’ll finally arrive at our camp, located next to hot springs, where we can relax and recharge after the day’s trek.

After enjoying our breakfast, we’ll begin a 2-hour ascent to Punta Cuyoc, our highest point of the trek at 5,000 meters above sea level. From here, we’ll be able to admire the towering mountains of Pumarinri, Cuyoc, Jurao, and more. Then, we’ll descend for about 1.5 hours to our camp. In the afternoon, those who wish can optionally visit Santa Rosa Pass, located at 5,020 meters above sea level.

Early in the morning, we’ll board our private vehicle for a 5-hour drive to Lima, where the trip will come to an end.

This is a physically demanding expedition. It’s ideal for mountaineers with previous experience in ascents over 4,000 or 5,000 meters. If you’ve done multi-day expeditions in cold and high-altitude conditions, you’ll be better prepared for this challenge.

We recommend a training program of 3 to 6 months, focused on cardiovascular endurance, muscle strength, and altitude acclimatization. Activities like mountain hiking, trail running, and cycling are perfect.

Our team is equipped with satellite communication devices, first aid kits, and medical oxygen supplies at high-altitude camps. We also constantly monitor the physical condition of the participants.

In Mendoza city, you’ll find a variety of equipment available for rent. However, we recommend bringing your own personal gear that suits your needs best and only renting the essentials. We’ll be available to provide advice on acquiring the right gear, whether through rental or purchase.

If you can’t continue due to health or weather reasons, our team will prioritize your safety. We’ll help you descend and make sure you get the necessary medical attention.
