The journey begins in Riohacha at 7:30 a.m., after each traveler has enjoyed breakfast independently. The driver will then pick up the group at the hotel to start the journey in a private 4×4 vehicle. Before departure, some general recommendations for the route will be provided.

Our first stop will be in the town of Camarones (Riohacha), where we will visit the Los Flamencos Fauna and Flora Sanctuary. There, we will enjoy the beautiful spectacle offered by these pink birds while navigating through the mangroves on a traditional raft, a natural setting of great beauty and tranquility.

After this experience, we will continue our journey toward Cabo de la Vela. Along the way, we will stop to enjoy a typical regional lunch. We will then visit the Manaure Salt Flats, pass through Uribia, and cross the Carrizal Desert, before finally arriving at the long-awaited Cabo de la Vela.

In this magical place, we will enjoy the sea and its golden beaches, as well as admire spectacular sunsets. We will hike up El Pilón de Azúcar, where we will feel the strong winds characteristic of the area during the walk, and end the afternoon with a breathtaking sunset from the lighthouse viewpoint.

After breakfast at Cabo de la Vela, we will head toward Nazaret, a small settlement located in the Upper Guajira, at the gateway to Macuira National Natural Park. The journey, which takes approximately seven hours, is captivating for its diversity of landscapes, transitioning from desert to sea, through dry forests and wide bays.

Along the way, we will pass near the Jepirachi Wind Farm, the Bahía Portete viewpoint, the Warreo Desert, the deserts of Puerto Nuevo and Portete, as well as the desert areas of Bahía Honda and Bahía Hondita, until finally arriving in Nazaret. Throughout the route, we will make short stops to rest and enjoy the scenery.

Upon arrival, we will stay at local rancherías, where we will spend the night in a hammock (chinchorro). There is also the option to sleep in a bed, available for an additional cost and subject to availability.

On the morning of the third day, we will visit Macuira National Natural Park, a unique mountain range made up of lush forests, streams, waterfalls, and sand dunes that rise unexpectedly in the midst of the impressive La Guajira Desert.

In the afternoon, we will head to the beaches of El Cachi, a remote and lightly visited area where we can enjoy the sea, the tranquility, and the solitude of the El Cachi ranchería, located in the vastness of the desert. This setting is ideal for stargazing, meditation, and connecting with the magic of the sea in contrast with the desert landscape.

After breakfast, we will head to one of the most impressive highlights of the journey: the Taroa Dunes. We will walk across the golden sand dunes, shaped by the constant force of the wind, until reaching the top, where we will be amazed by an almost surreal scene—the contrast between the deep blue of the sea and the golden desert beaches, a view that feels like something out of a dream.

We will have plenty of time to explore the dunes, enjoy the scenery, and cool off in the sea. Afterwards, we will continue our journey toward Punta Gallinas, visiting Bahía Hondita and Punta Aguja, and end the day by watching another spectacular sunset at the Punta Gallinas Lighthouse, the northernmost point of Colombia and South America.

On the final day of the trip, we will once again cross the desert landscapes of the Upper and Middle Guajira until reaching Mayapo, a beautiful and lightly visited beach. Not because it lacks charm, but because few travelers venture into this area, preferring the more well-known beaches of Riohacha.

Mayapo is a coastal spot frequented mainly by local communities and a small number of visitors, making it a peaceful, authentic, and relaxed place. Here, we will enjoy the Caribbean Sea and a traditional regional lunch, bringing the journey to a calm and memorable close.

In the afternoon, we will return to Riohacha, where our driver-guide will drop you off at the hotel of your choice.
