Delve into the llanera culture and, in a safari style, get to know the beautiful landscapes of a land where jaguars, anacondas, crocodiles, chigüiros, birds and a large number of fauna abound.
LA AURORA RESERVE
El Hato – La Aurora is a natural reserve located in eastern Colombia in the Eastern Plains, north to the Casanare department, in the neighbor of Matapalito between Hato Corozal y Paz de Ariporo. This beautiful place offers us many different attractions due to its fauna richness that, along 9,887 hectares, give us colorful landscapes with the infinite meadows with patches of morichales, the image of the barefoot local cowboy and the orange sunsets. This richness makes, also, this territory an ideal habitat to a great amount of animal species such as jaguars, crocodiles, anacondas, chigüiros, deer, pumas, foxes, canaguaros, picures, meleros and anteaters bears, among others. Besides, there are also more tan 200 identified bird species that live there and interrelate in this magical ecosystem.
In this experience, the travelers will be able to dive into the llanera (plains) culture through typical activities such as hiking, horseback riding and the llanero style safari; travelers will also enjoy the music, the food, the dancing and many different customs in the natural environment that the region provides.
ITINERARY
One of the beautiful things about this journey is that there is not a fixed itinerary, instead, each traveler will chose an activity that feel connection with and we will reach an agreement with the group and design our own itinerary based on that, and availability.
In the reserve we will be able to enjoy of activities such as safari llanero style, horseback riding, hiking, bird watching, among others you can enjoy by building a collective plan. So, let it flow and coordinate with your guide the schedule and type of activities you wish to experience.
TRIP DURATION

Having the opportunity to see an anaconda, alligators and hundreds of chigüiros along with thousands of birds in the lagoons is an experience I will never forget. Not to mention the orange sunsets accompanied with a good plate of food while listening to joropo music.
Thanks for such a beautiful experience.
