We begin our journey before dawn to enjoy the privilege of watching the sunrise. Early in the morning, we start our ascent along a spectacular 40-kilometer road, surrounded by colorful landscapes unfolding over the majestic Andes mountains. This two-hour journey will be done in a 4×4 vehicle until reaching the entrance of Los Nevados National Natural Park, in an area known as Potosí, located at 3,900 meters above sea level.
There, we will enjoy a moment to relax and savor a delicious traditional country breakfast typical of the region. Afterwards, National Park staff will offer an informational briefing before we continue our adventure.
We then begin a gentle two-hour hike across flat and rolling terrain until reaching the impressive Otún Lagoon—the largest and one of the most stunning lakes in the park.
